Chinese Dance
Chinese Dance CCA nurtures members through a systematic and progressive training programme rooted in dedication and perseverance. Beyond developing strong dance techniques, we foster a supportive environment where lasting friendships flourish, making every step of the dance journey memorable.
Objectives
In Chinese Dance, the dancers will be developed in these three key areas:
Skills:
Through regular practices and dedicated instruction, our dancers develop strong foundations in Chinese dance techniques and forms. Along the way, they build physical coordination, flexibility, and artistic expression while learning to perform with confidence, precision, and grace.
Values:
Through regular training sessions and performance opportunities, members learn to persevere through challenges, support one another, and take pride in working towards shared goals. These meaningful experiences nurture disciplined, resilient, and responsible individuals who demonstrate confidence, respect, and teamwork.
Leadership:
Senior dancers take on leadership roles by leading warm-ups, guiding practices, mentoring juniors, and supporting school programmes such as the P2 CCA Experience Programme. Through these authentic experiences, they strengthen their communication, responsibility, and teamwork skills while learning to lead by example. These opportunities empower our dancers to become confident leaders who inspire and support others both within and beyond the CCA.

Programme Highlights
Throughout the year, our Chinese dancers showcase their talents through a wide range of performance opportunities that develop them into confident and versatile performers. They perform at school celebrations such as Chinese New Year, represent the school at community events like FaithActs Honours Night, and participate in prestigious platforms such as the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation. These authentic experiences enable our dancers to apply their skills in diverse settings, strengthen their resilience and teamwork, and deepen their appreciation of Chinese culture.

Students’ Experiences
“When I first joined Chinese Dance, I was always afraid to try new things and preferred to stay within my comfort zone. I would avoid unfamiliar challenges and only do what I felt comfortable with. Over the years, I learnt to step out of my comfort zone and embrace new opportunities, accept feedback positively instead of feeling upset, and keep practising no matter how difficult the dance steps were. Most importantly, I developed a growth mindset and learnt to stay positive, even when I felt stressed. Before performing on stage, I always remind myself, "It's going to be fine. I've got this!" – Chen Yuwen
Top of Form
“Through my CCA, I have developed the school value of Resilience. There were times when training was challenging and I felt very tired, but I learned to persevere and give my best instead of giving up. Overcoming these challenges has taught me to stay determined, face difficulties with confidence, and keep striving to improve. My CCA experience has also shown me that I can achieve more than I thought possible as long as I remain committed and never give up.” – Geam Wen Xin
