Speech & Drama
Speech and Drama CCA nurtures confident and creative communicators through performance. Through collaborative activities, members build teamwork, unleash their imagination, and cultivate a love for the performing arts.
Objectives
Speech and Drama students will be developed in these five key areas:
Communicate clearly and effectively, focusing on clear articulation, voice modulation, and vocal projection.
Express emotions and ideas through various forms of presentation and drama performance to enhance their creativity and imagination.
Work collaboratively in a group for presentation and ensemble for drama performances, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and active listening.
Learn and apply key drama techniques such as improvisation, character building, and script interpretation, stagecraft and scriptwriting in service of enhancing performance, for example prop-making, sets and costumes.
Build confidence by providing opportunities for public speaking, performance and other drama related activities (e.g. prop-making).

Readers’ Theatre & Scripted Performances – practicing teamwork through ensemble acting
Improvisation Games – sparking creativity and quick thinking
Scriptwriting Activities – encouraging students to create their own short plays
Showcase Performances – presenting skits or plays during school events or assemblies
Participation in Competitions/Festivals – representing the school in drama or oratory contests
Peer Feedback & Reflection – learning to give and receive constructive feedback
